Sharon Samuel // Staff Accountant

Sharon Samuel is a results-driven accounting leader with over 15 years of experience managing finance teams and overseeing nonprofit organizations' budgeting, reporting, audits, and strategic planning. Sharon is an innovative thinker skilled at optimizing limited resources to expand community programs. She has led successful implementations of new accounting and audit systems and month-end close procedures to improve financial operations.

As a Comptroller for various organizations, such as Ensemble Theatre and CenterPoint Energy, Sharon managed over $25M+ budgets and synthesized complex data into digestible presentations. She instituted best practices that enhanced governance, reduced cash flow leaks, and led annual audits. She also secured $1.5M in grants through proposal writing and donor relationships.

Working with Goshen, she oversees the work of accounting team members and excels at collaborating cross-functionally with members and clients through process improvements and efficiencies.

Sharon holds an MA in Communications from the University of Houston, a BBA in Accounting from Sam Houston State University, and a Nonprofit Finance Certificate from Rice University Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies.
